10 facts about me
1. My PhD thesis is devoted to syntax — coordinative and adversative relations in a Russian compound sentence.
2. I taught Russian as a foreign language at a state university for 11+ years.
3. During my educational career, I have taught 1000+ students from Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South Americas.
4. Two of my students defended their PhD and DSc dissertations in Russian! I am very proud of them.
5. I am the author of 70+ articles and textbooks on grammar and Russian for specific purposes.
6. The topic of my essay on the state exam is “The fantastic in the novel 'The Master and Margarita'” by Mikhail Bulgakov.
7. I defended my thesis at the age of 25, and became an assistant professor at the age of 29.
8. I am a contemporary artist and curator. Most often, my projects are participatory and site-specific, such as a micro radio in a Russian village or embroideries for a Danish laundry. Nominee for the “Innovation” award and “Sergey Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Award”.
9. I have an IELTS certificate. I studied French at school, and Czech and Latin at the university.
10. I love to swim, especially to swim across new bodies of water. Whenever I see a river or a lake — I swim across it.
